Sketches, by Ryan McGillicuddy, is a periodically updated audio visual journal featuring stripped down field recordings of previously unreleased material. Immodest and lacking embellishment, the works presented here are the undressed figures of a forthcoming full-length studio album. As a result of life and incompetency, that effort will be distantly realized. In the meantime, please enjoy these songs in their pure pellucid form.

Angels dying in the roadside
Tumbleweeds and wings
A grassfire in the choir
Singing “I shall be released”

Kings fucking in the barb wire
Screaming psalms of ecstasy
Selah. Tongues pleasuring the wicked
Lamenting nothing

Cities burning outside
We lie safely naked while babies dream

Cops shaking down the schoolyard
A nursery of thieves
Planting contraband, thread and needles
Poetry and seeds

Prophets tagging up the statehouse
In wildstyle lettering
“The beginning is near”
“Plunder unto Caesar, his pigs in pearl earrings”

Vines choking all the world
But we are cradled in an armory of peace

Throw our fears on the funeral pyre
Dancing underneath the apple tree
